1. In your reading notebook, you listed all of the onomatopoeias you found in these chapters. Why are onomatopoeias helpful to use in your writing? Think of an interesting sentence using an onomatopoeia. Morgan: Onomatopoeias are important in writing because they are great sensory details and make people feel like they are really there. Also onomatopoeias help the readers understand what is happening along with helping hook the reader. A sentence with an onomatopoeia is, Creek, the classroom door opened and Cassidy walked in. Mrs. N: Morgan, you have some great ideas! I'm impressed that you put so much thought into how they can help the reader better picture your writing :) Samantha:onomatopoeias are important in writing because you can hear it in your head sometimes.
